Our ProcessesConsultation
Your MDL Representative will meet with you in your home to discuss your project, listen to your ideas and to answer any questions and/or immediate concerns you may have.
Proposal We will provide you with an initial design proposal and possibly at that time, a written quote for your project. Proposal acceptance Once you have reviewed your proposal and have chosen MDL Designs Ltd. to work for you, a contract will be drawn up detailing all aspects and details of the job, including an agreed payment schedule and targeted start and finish dates. Final Design / Permit Applications
A final design will be completed for planning and permit applications ( if required).
Some designs will be hand rendered to provide a detailed visual concept of your project.
  Detail Decisions:
While your project is in the planning phase we will work with you to begin the process of choosing colours, fixtures, trim and hardware and any other detail decisions that need to be made pertinent to your project. MDL Designs Ltd. will provide you with as much or as little input as you wish. We will always provide you with an organized list of the decisions that need to be made with as much lead-time as possible. Our experienced staff can help guide your through the process or we can provide you with a consultation from a registered interior designer if you wish. Permit approvals:
Once we receive the building permits and are approved for construction, your project is ready to begin. Although we always attempt to follow your permits during it’s review by the city, it can be difficult to time the start date of your project based on when we receive permits. This is why we prefer to have ample lead time on projects and to have our permits in hand well before the targeted start date.
Site layout:
Before the construction of your project starts, we will perform a site layout and a walk through with you.
Construction:
Mdl prides itself in running a clean, well organized operation. Every attempt is made to maintain our schedule and to perform our work in an unobtrusive manner. We always take the time to address any questions and / or concerns you may have during the construction process..
Client inspection:
Once we have completed your job and we are satisfied with our work, we will ask you to perform your own inspection and list any items that you feel requires our attention .
Completion:
Once your job has been completed to your satisfaction, we will deem your project to be completed.
Follow up Service:
MDL Designs Ltd. guarantees it’s workmanship and will return make adjustments and do touch up work for a period of one full year. Structural work and more major items are guaranteed for two full years. |
